CONCEPT

 

私は環境心理学に触発され、

自分の生まれ育った現代の東北の景色や生活の記憶、

ステレオタイプ化された地方や田舎のイメージを引き合いに作品を作っています。（以下これらをまとめて“風景”と呼びます）

私が作品のイメージソースに風景を多用するのは、

勿論それが私のアイデンティティの外枠（ケース）を形成しているからに他なりません。

私を取り巻き、イメージを刺激するこの風景は、国境や時空、次元を超えて、

神話や寓話、歴史的事象など、あらゆる物語や史話と呼応しています。

私は制作に於いてそれらの結びつきをリアリズムに反映する試みをしているつもりでしたが、

蓋を開けてみればその試みはシュルレアリスムの探求者と同じ試みであり、

また個人的な社会へのアイロニカルなジョークの発露でもありました。

個人史を突き詰め、作品を作り続けることでしか分からない事実がある。

だからアートは面白い。

私は今日も明日も頭の中に釣り糸を垂らして、

混沌とした風景の中から食いついてくるイメージを引き上げるべく、

せっせと手を動かし、じっくり物思いに耽ります。

CONCEPT

 

Inspired by environmental psychology, I’ve been painting by using motifs of landscapes and my memories of contemporary Tohoku, the homeland where I grew up, and the stereotyped images of the countrysides or rural areas.

 

I call them "landscapes" in my creation, and the reason why the "landscapes" are frequently used as image sources in my creations is simply because they shape an outline of my identity.

 

The "landscapes" surrounding me synchronize with various myths, allegories, and historical phenomenon in stories or historical anecdotes that are beyond borders, time and space. This environment invites me to bring my creations to life. I always tried to reflect them to my creations which stick to realism, that is the state of being actual or real.

 

However, this experiment turned out to be the same one of the seeker of Surrealism and also my personal expression of the ironical joke to the society.

 

There are facts that I can only know by learning about my personal background and continuing to paint. I find art interesting for this reason. And by that, day after day, I am engaged in making new creations and pondering for ideas to cast a fishing line in my mind and hang images of chaotic "landscapes".
